  • Colleen

Colleen has been a dedicated student of Pilates for over 18 years. In 2011, soon after having her 2nd child, Colleen was introduced to Reformer Pilates as a way to recover core-strength and rehabilitate from pregnancy and surgery. It immediately became her favorite form of exercise and she saw for herself that Pilates truly can be for every ‘body’. Fast forward to 3 years ago, she decided to deepen her understanding of Pilates so that she could share it with others. Colleen completed both of her Classical-style instructor certifications through Peak Pilates at Lifetime Academy in Commerce, Michigan. She is certified to teach each piece of equipment that Club Pilates offers to their members, from introducing students to the integral building blocks through advanced stages of one’s Pilates practice. As an instructor, Colleen aims to spread the wealth of knowledge that Pilates offers in an upbeat and personal atmosphere. Warmly welcoming people from all walks of life, she is committed to teaching students the correct movements so they understand how Pilates integrates the body’s movements in response to body awareness. With so many props, pieces of equipment and class styles, she can create diversity in her classes that keep things exciting for the studio’s members as well as for herself! Colleen is thrilled to be part of the Club Pilates in Shelby Township. As a studio that allows their instructors the opportunity to let their creativity shine, she is grateful to work with such a dynamic team right here in her hometown. Colleen received her bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Wayne State University followed by her law degree from University of Detroit Mercy. Outside of the studio, she’s a busy mom of three boys and enjoys staying active with each of them. A lover of the outdoors, live music and finding the humor in life with the help of friends and family, Colleen is grateful to share her love of Pilates with her community.

  • Hannah

Hannah was born and raised in South Korea. When she met her forever love, she moved to Michigan, where she is now a permanent resident. She discovered her passion for Pilates in 2012 when she was first introduced to mat Pilates at a studio in her neighborhood. The biggest reason she loved going to the studio was because her first instructor had a beautiful figure – made by Pilates. Hannah never thought about becoming a Pilates instructor at first, but as she found her own body and posture changing dramatically over time, she wanted to study Pilates full time. She became a STOTT certified instructor in 2017. During her study, she decided to quit her day job as an office worker in a trading company and devoted herself in working out and observing how her body works with Pilates and how to use that to help others. Although many obstacles and people initially stood in her way of becoming a Pilates instructor, she overcame fear and doubt and committed to a healthy future. Even now as a Pilates instructor, the learning never ends. She continues to study, examine, and take courses on her own – adding Barre certification as well. "I believe with improved self-awareness comes the ability to understand our self from the inside out. Once we do, we can accept our self and that is when we can truly love our self. As your teacher, I want to let you know how your body and mind connects, and learn to know who you really are. My goal is to guide you to find yourself and move without limitations so you can live a happy, fulfilled life.”
